Whatsapp is out of the picture. FINALLY the day has arrived.

So finally deleted whatsapp for good today. Bon débarras!
Felt SO peaceful.
SO right.
Viber, messenger, all gone, including all nonsense social media apps. I missed olden days when you HAD TO pay for a message. ‘SMS’ days. People would think and write in the most minimalist form. They would THINK before sending. Was so peaceful. When the message tone went off on phone, you knew something important was there.
And now…ah…the torture.
Total intrusion.
With these free messaging applications now, it’s the never ending installment of hundred messages for something that could be said in one; incessant sending of utterly non-hilarious posters called ‘jokes’; unwanted knowledge of unpleasant news (Who told you I am interested in gaining ‘that‘ knowledge?); and not to mention the significant amount of insignificant videos of absolute nonsense, obsolete health theories detracted from blogs published at the earliest times of internet by some morons who ‘believed’ they were ‘true’ (though unscientific and never approved but now called authentic because they go viral)…and the replacement of verbal vocabulary with emojis. (People have completely forgotten ‘moderation is the key’). I can go on…
And more importantly, the world has somehow completely conditioned their brains to erase the difference between a ‘message’ and an ’email’. (Yup, there’s a difference.)
‘Message’ = comes with an on-spot requirement of a receipt to release the sender from lingering in his prevailing thought.
‘Email’ = comes with comfort of time elasticity. (unless it’s for urgent attendance.)
DIFFERENCE.
DIFFERENCE.
DIFFERENCE.
Was tired of checking phone just for people’s convenience. If there’s a message….if there’s a call…I was always obliged to attend, otherwise, of course, it is rude not to. If I didn’t, it was important; If I did, it was nonsense. In the process, I completely forgot that phone is for my convenience, not the other way round.
But it felt like that it was me who felt obliged to attend at earliest; for everyone else mostly, my messages were the last to be replied to. Sometimes days; sometimes weeks. (were you really serious?)
So now I am only reachable by email or my site. (I am sure, I will live.)
And more importantly, I will know exactly how many cared for me.
Not using phone either these days. It stays either silent, switched off or dead on my night stand. Will use mobile phone probably only during travel. This damn thing has made you accessible on the cost of losing your rights of privacy and space.
I reject it. Yes, I do.
Because of this small piece of metal and glass, everyone wants you there when ‘they’ need you. (When I need them, everyone has a ‘busy life’) (Looked like only I was free.)
I will go back in time if that can retain my peace.
The only purpose of my mobile phone right now is using my language apps or filming sometimes. Now don’t tell me to use a tablet, please. I have thought about it already. Mobile phone is better for me because I can keep it in my pocket or a clutch. And I do film with my camera too. Besides, I have a separate SIM only for Mekel and Emque.
I use technology for creative endeavors only. Please understand. You will. I know. (if you don’t get all emotional.)
Not using Facebook either. It stays idle online. I will probably check my messenger there once in 30 days. People will get used to my later replies too or no replies at all. (I got used to of their such indecent habit.)
Besides, I like emails. They show that someone took time especially for you and sat down to write.
They cared.
Why can’t this be normal?
Yeah, yeah, I know you will call me crazy for rejecting mobile phone and especially free messaging apps because they are blah blah blah…but I have long accepted that I belong to 1.5 percent of the world’s population. I will find people who think and live like me soon 🙂 (They REALLY exist.)
No offense should be taken.
I RECLAIM my peace today.
